How Do I
Dispose of...
Not everything belongs in your trash or recycling cart. Find the right way to dispose of everyday items, electronics, hazardous materials and more.
Where Does It Go?
Recycling
Paper, cardboard, bottles, cans and other accepted recyclables.
Electronics
Computers, televisions, printers, tablets and other electronic devices cannot be disposed of in Colorado landfills.
Paint & Chemicals
Paint, chemicals and other household hazardous materials require special handling.
Furniture & Bulk Items
Furniture, mattresses and other oversized household items may qualify for VVW bulk pickup.
Construction Materials
Cleaning up after a remodel or construction project?
Yard Waste
Branches, leaves and other landscaping debris may require special collection.
Electronics
Don't Toss Your E-Waste.
Colorado law prohibits certain electronic devices from being disposed of in landfills. Eagle County residents and businesses can recycle electronics through the Eagle County Household Hazardous Waste Facility. The existing VVW page currently states a charge of $0.20 per pound, but because that's Eagle County's fee rather than VVW's, I would verify that rate before carrying it onto the new site.
Electronics That Require Recycling
Computers & Monitors
Televisions
Printers & Fax Machines
DVD Players & VCRs
Keyboards & Mice
Radios & Stereos
Video Game Consoles
Laptops
Tablets
Banned electronics can be taken to the Eagle County Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Wolcott for proper recycling.
